massage & manual therapies
What to expect for your treatment
At the start of each treatment session, we conduct a personalized assessment to gain a deep understanding of your unique needs. This crucial step allows our therapists to tailor a combination of modalities and techniques that will provide you with the most effective care.
Once the assessment is complete, we work together to develop a treatment plan that is specifically designed to address your health concerns and wellness goals. Our comprehensive plan includes assessments, manual therapy modalities, and a home care regimen, ensuring a holistic approach to your health and well-being.
Whether you seek pain relief, tension reduction, or improved flexibility, rest assured that our treatments are individualized and focused on delivering optimal therapeutic benefits.
Please note: Please note that Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) is seamlessly integrated into our treatments based on the unique needs of each client. While we do not currently offer traditional stand-alone, whole-body CST sessions, our therapists have extensively studied and practiced an evidence-based approach that has shaped their treatment style. This evolution allows them to incorporate CST as needed, enhancing the therapeutic benefits and ensuring a personalized, client-centric approach to wellness

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
Therapeutic Massage techniques are aimed at restoring and maintaining optimal health and pain-free function of the body. Therapeutic Massage can be deeper pressure, ORTHOPEDIC in nature or RELAXING with light pressure; both providing healing.
We use a variety of hands on techniques together with patient education, heat and cold therapy and stretching to reduce pain, improve overall function and help with injury prevention.
Some techniques used include, Swedish techniques, Light or Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Active Release, Facilitated Stretching, Joint Mobilization
Conditions treated with massage include but not limited to:
acute chronic pain
migraines/headaches
neck, shoulder, back pain
overuse injuries
piriformis syndrome, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel
plantar fasciitis, pes planus
neurological conditions
rotator cuff injuries
pre/post-surgical rehabilitation
postural pain and dysfunction
sports injury and recovery
trauma, stress
IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization)
Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a skilled myofascial intervention for soft-tissue treatment. It is applied using instruments usually made of stainless steel with bevelled edges and contours that can conform to different body anatomical locations and allow for deeper penetration.
How Does It Work?
Instruments effectively break down fascial restrictions and scar tissue. The ergonomic design of these instruments provides the clinician with the ability to locate restrictions and allows the clinician to treat the affected area with the appropriate amount of pressure.
The introduction of controlled microtrauma to affected soft tissue structure causes the stimulation of local inflammatory response. Microtrauma initiates the reabsorption of inappropriate fibrosis or excessive scar tissue and facilitates a cascade of healing activities resulting in remodelling of affected soft tissue structures.
Adhesions within the soft tissue which may have developed as a result of surgery, immobilization, repeated strain or other mechanisms, are broken down allowing full functional restoration to occur.
Conditions For Which IASTM is Usually Used
Tibialis Posterior Tendinitis
Heel Pain /Achilles Tendinitis
Post-Surgical and Traumatic Scars
Myofascial Pain and Restrictions
Musculoskeletal Imbalances
Chronic Joint Swelling Associated with Sprains/Strains
Ligament Sprains
Muscle Strains
Non-Acute Bursitis
RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy)
Back Pain
Hip Pain (Replacements)
IT Band Syndrome
Shin Splints
Chronic Ankle Sprains
Acute Ankle Sprains (Advanced Technique)
Scars (Surgical, Traumatic)

DYNAMIC CUPPING
Dynamic Cupping is a method of therapeutic release whereby your therapist uses Silicone Cups to suction and glide along soft tissue & muscle fibre. It is this vacuum effect, or negative pressure, combined with dynamic movement that produces a therapeutic result.
Used for centuries, the popularity of this treatment continues to grow as people seek alternative and natural methods for therapeutic treatment and release.
Your therapist will use the cups to:
distract congested tissue
release trigger points and myofascial restrictions
reduce pain and stiffness, increase mobility
reduce scar tissue.
deep tissue work, myofascial release
decrease tension for headaches
Lymphatic Cupping for lymphatic drainage, edema
HOT STONE THERAPY
Combining hot stone protocols with a full body massage of any kind, provides a very healing experience and promotes deeper muscle relaxation and is included in most treatments for added healing properties.
West Pine’s Hot Stone Therapy uses heat therapy and Jade & Basalt Stones, both as a static application and actively during the massage treatment.
Provides relief from pain associated with fibromyalgia, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other chronic conditions which can also be exacerbated by the cold weather
Decreases pain and muscle spasms
Reduces chronic stress and tension
Increases flexibility in joints, aiding in easier mobility and movement
Relieves pain and tension created by strained and contracted muscles
Provides a more efficient deep-tissue massage
Increases the parasympathetic effect of massage, making it more ‘relaxing’
may affect the nervous system by changing the sensations (messages to the areas of the body being treated, to and from the brain through the nerve pathways) from hands-on massage to warm stones on the skin surface, helping to release more tension in areas of concern.
CRANIOSACRAL
THERAPY (CST)
Please note that Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) is seamlessly integrated into our treatments based on the unique needs of each client.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance.
CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. Using a soft touch, practitioners release the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.
By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord and enhancing the body's ability to self-correct, your practitioner is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions. CST is effective for a wide range of medical conditions and injuries ranging from:
Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury,
Migraines and Headaches,
Chronic Neck and Back Pain,
Stress and Tension-Related Disorders
Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
Chronic Fatigue
Fibromyalgia
TMJ Syndrome
Scoliosis
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders,
orthopedic dysfunction and more
MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE (MLD)
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a rhythmic, light pressure technique that follows the drainage pathways of the body’s lymphatic system: lymph, interstitial fluid and synovial fluid.
The slow, repetitive, rhythmic nature of these techniques also decreases pain perception and the effects in the sympathetic nervous system throughout your body.
MLD is an excellent treatment modality for:
reducing swelling and inflammation, edemas
stimulating the immune system
improving circulation of lymphatic fluid
surgery preparation and recovery
aiding the body in its own natural detoxification process.
headaches, allergies, sinus pain and congestions
TMJ pain, dysfunction
pregnancy
swelling from injuries
Fibromyalgi, Lupus, MS
cosmetic surgery recovery and facial treatments
How can Manual Lymphatic Drainage help after cosmetic surgery?
Patients will judge the results of a cosmetic surgery procedure by symmetry, minimal scarring, contour and skin regularity.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage has proven to be an excellent therapy post-cosmetic surgery. Please, make sure you check with your surgeon before booking a treatment.
Manual Lymph Drainage will:
drain the accumulated fluid towards the closest lymph nodes
decrease the bruising
decrease the swelling and help tremendously with the pain
speed up the healing process
soften the scars and make them less visible in the long run
reduce the hard lumps, rippling and dimpling & indentations
What you need to know about Manual Lymph Drainage:
it is a very gentle treatment, as lymphatic vessels are very close to the surface of the skin
it does not hurt
you will continue to wear your compression, as per your cosmetic surgeon’s orders
you might need a series of treatments for better results
